Cognizant is bolstering its presence in India with the inauguration of its first center in Madhya Pradesh.
The new facility, located in Indore, spans an impressive 46,000 square feet and marks a strategic expansion for the company in central India. The center was officially opened by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who emphasized the importance of intellectual property and technology in shaping the 21st century.
“The 21st century is the century of intellectual property, which will make its mark in the world on the basis of information technology and artificial intelligence (AI),” Yadav remarked during the ceremony.
He highlighted India’s longstanding global recognition for its intellectual prowess and stressed the need to further promote the country’s IT sector.
The new center is expected to create over 1,500 employment opportunities in Indore, with potential growth to accommodate up to 20,000 employees in the future.
This expansion is a testament to Cognizant’s commitment to fostering local talent and contributing to the region’s economic development.
Surya Gummadi, Executive Vice President and President of Cognizant Americas, was present at the inauguration and shared his vision for the new center.
“Indore will seamlessly integrate into our existing delivery network across India, focus on innovative solutions for our global clients, create new opportunities for local talent and bring our offices closer to where our associates live,” Gummadi stated.
The Indore center, located at Brilliant Titanium in the heart of the city, has a seating capacity of 500 and can accommodate up to 1,250 associates under a hybrid work model. This setup aligns with Cognizant’s strategy to offer flexible work environments while tapping into the region’s rich talent pool.
