In the men’s javelin final at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Neeraj Chopra was excellent in performance as he took a silver with a remarkable throw of 89.45 meters. It bettered his throw to win gold at the Tokyo Olympics by 1.87 meters.

However, in an extraordinary performance, Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan was forced to settle for second place, as Nadeem threw an Olympic record of 92.97 meters to claim the gold.

The historic August 8 throw of Nadeem, which crossed the 90-meter mark in his last attempt, not only sealed the top position for him but also made him the first Pakistani to win an individual Olympic gold medal.

Neeraj Chopra’s silver in Paris adds another very important feather in his cap and makes him the third Indian athlete to achieve an individual Olympic medal in two different games, following in the footsteps of PV Sindhu and Sushil Kumar.

Consistency at the international level remains a pivotal factor, with Chopra constantly inspiring aspiring athletes from not only in length but also in breadth across India.
